Arjeplog’s Winter Market

We welcome you to the Arjeplog Winter Market 2025, 7-8 March.

Enjoy genuine crafts, market trading, good food, activities and festivities.

Market with almost 400 years of tradition

Queen Kristina established the market as early as 1642. Above all, it was about bartering, not least with the Sami. The market also had an important social function, as people met perhaps only once a year. They learnt about marriages, deaths and other news. People also paid their taxes, visited the priest or had disputes resolved by the chief justice. The market is still a meeting place for community, reunions and trade.
