Exhibition – Journey Through Dawn at Silvermuseet

Britta Marakatt-Labba is one of our foremost artists, known for her ability to create stories with needle and thread. Through her works, which, like the joik, have neither beginning nor end, she depicts everyday life, political abuses, the mythological world and Sami history in a way that has fascinated people far beyond Sápmi. Her international breakthrough came in 2017 when her 24-metre-long embroidery Historjá was shown at the contemporary art exhibition Documenta 14.

The exhibition, which runs from 13th of December 2025 to 1st of May 2026, features ten graphic prints on the theme of Journey Through Dawn and two embroideries on loan from the municipality of Luleå.
